Catalog of Femininity

The second series of work is a scientific process in which I began to catalog femininity. I took twelve items from different types of things women use, such as purses, shoes, and undergarments and documented them as if I was studying this gender role 500 years in the future. The difference in objects even within each set shows the variety and extent to which femininity lives in our culture today. I title these images with its assumed use that scientists from the future who have never seen these items before may associate with these objects, such as enhancers for the bras or tools for makeup applicators. With this work, I play with the future context of these items and ask what purpose these items have in our relevant culture and why they are so important to many women.
